From the start of the Club du Soleil de Clermont-Ferrand to today
The Club du Soleil de Clermont-Ferrand, a 1901 french law association, started in the 60’s.
The 60’s
In 1963, a group of naturists from Clermont-Ferrand, returning from their holidays in Cap d’Agde, prospect the Clermont region in search for a suitable land for practicing naturism. A piece of land of two and a half hectares is selected in the town of Saint-Saturnin in Chadrat. The group became a member of the Club du Soleil de Paris and created the “Clermont Section” of the Paris Club du Soleil.
Efficiency and rapidity
The members of the association got active to created the first layout and to transform the land into a living space. They set up fences along the road, install toilets and build a sheds for the tools.
Friendship and family
From the start, this adventure brought together friends and families. Play grounds for children and adults are built : grounds for volleyball, pétanque, play frames for kids….
The 70’s
In 1972, the statutes of an association Club du Soleil de Clermont-Ferrand were filed with the prefecture. The members of the association continue to develop the site and improve comfort by doubling the fresh water storage capacity; from there on the campsite benefits from heated fresh water.
The 80’s
Creation and inauguration of the archery field. Other infrastructures have been built, the shed, the garage …

The 90’s
The campsite has been connected to the electricity network in 1995. This step made it possible to improve sanitary facilities and to build a swimming pool.
The 2000’s

For almost 60 years, over the years, the adventure continues. Old and new members use their know-how and their free time to maintain and manage the campsite. This beautiful space endures, thanks to the collective good will. Today the campground has 15 ha. These freely contributions allow everyone to pay his tribute to the initiators, pioneers of this exceptional site. It is with pride that we welcome tourists and help them discover and appreciate our naturist campsite.
